RENEWABLE HEATING INSTALLATIONS
Air Source Heat Pumps
Air source heat pumps are an efficient, environmentally friendly method of heating our homes. TF Heating & Plumbing supply and fit air source heat pumps for households and businesses. Our professional team of engineers are always happy to explain the pro’s and cons of all Heat Pump options and advise which is most suitable for you.

What is an Air Source Heat Pump?
Transfers energy from the air outside your home.
- The heat pump extracts heat from the air outside. The air is blown through tubes filled with refrigerant, turning it from a liquid to a gas.
- This gas is then compressed, which increases the heat, and is sent throughout your home to radiators, underfloor heating.
- Excess hot water is stored in a hot water cylinder to be used for your showers and taps.

Is an air source heat pump suitable for my property?
Air source heat pumps are generally a permitted development, suitable for most average sized homes with outdoor space.
Properties with a front garden, back garden, or large outdoor wall space are typically well suited for an air source heat pump.
SUSTAINABLE HEATING INSTALLERS
Ground Source Heat Pumps
Ground source heat pumps offer eco-friendly, sustainable heating by harnessing consistent underground temperatures that remain stable all year round. With over a decade of experience, TF Heating & Plumbing provide expert installation and tailored guidance to help you find the best renewable heating solution for your property.

What is a Ground Source Heat Pump?
Transfers energy from the ground outside your home.
- Pipes buried around 1m underground collect natural heat from the stable ground temperature.
- A fluid circulates through the pipes, carrying the heat to the pump, where it’s compressed to increase its temperature.
- The warmed refrigerant transfers heat to your home’s heating system, such as radiators, underfloor heating and hot water tanks.

Do I have enough space for a ground source heat pump?
Ground Source Heat Pumps are suitable for those with a garden approximately 75% the size of their property.
For example, if your property is 250m2, then you’ll require a minimum of a 500m2 garden space to generate adequate levels of heat.
